The tedious part of travel

The clock is running: I leave 5 February.

Today launching into all the things that a motorcycle trip is designed to take me away from, but that ironically have to be done first:

arranging mortgage and other bill payments, preparing 2009 income taxes, organizing, paperwork, organizing,
paperwork... (repeat as necessary).

But I love lists and organizing (thanks, mama, for making me a Virgo!), so I have the fun of enumerating gear, clothes, gifts, motorcycle stuff for Tim, bicycling gear for me, and -- equally important -- food for the flight. I never let myself be subject only to the frightening stuff that comes out of a microwave at 35,000 ft.

I bought a beautiful fennel salami today; now, will it last until takeoff, or will I succumb to it's pungent porkosity?

  2. Excited for you as you leave "sivilization" You got me looking up Antipodean - and it seems that Colorado is actually antipodal to the Indian Ocean and that Tasmania's antipodal - actually falls in the Atlantic Ocean. But whatever - have a blast! Love to see the journey on the map when you know it. I will certainly follow along.
